The Kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God is within you
~ Luke 17:21

The gospel is the good news about Jesus Christ. It is also the good news of the Kingdom of God.

In a kingdom there is a king, who is the supreme ruler. In the Kingdom there is the King, who rules in the heart of the believer.

We live in a world where politicians and governments invest in programmes of social engineering. Jesus showed that what is really needed is spiritual regeneration. And the principles of His Kingdom run counter-intuitive to the way we think.

Trust in God is called rest. Fruitfulness flows naturally out of relationship with Him. We are to abide in Him and grow in Him. His Spirit is at work in us and we are to work in harmony with the Spirit.

God is not frantic – and we should not be either – but He is efficient.

Maturing faith, and the work of God, is according to His purposes. Concocting our own plans, and asking God to endorse them, is a far cry from waiting on God, hearing His voice and stepping out with faith and obedience, and usually with incomplete understanding.

Those who are led by the Spirit are those who are His.
