Beyond sight

What is seen is temporary. What is unseen is eternal.
~ 2 Corinthians 4:18

Are you healthy? Will you live to 80 or 90 or more? It is as nothing. Compared to eternity your life is like a grain of sand on all the beaches of the world. Less, in fact. In a heartbeat it will be over. Like a puff of smoke in the wind. If a Great Pyramid were erected in your memory it would be gnawed by sand and rain until, in time, it too would disappear. Is that a depressing thought?

Nothing that can be seen or touched will last.

However, there is another world that is not visible. If an Elisha were to pray for you, you would see that you are surrounded by other beings, by angels and demons. You cannot measure it or explain it. It is not logical or rational, but it is true. You are already part of a spiritual world.

This life is not all there is.

Your body will die but your spirit will endure. You will pass into a realm that will go on and on forever.

You will meet with the God who created what you now see and what you do not see and what will forever be. If the Bible is to be believed His name is Jesus.

Here is an arresting thought. You will meet Him. And you will give an account of your life.
